Fans Travel from Tri-State and Beyond for Kristina Lachaga to Open for Heffron Drive

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - On Tuesday, June 30, rising pop sensation, Kristina Lachaga, will open for electro-pop band, Heffron Drive, featuring teenage heartthrob, Kendall Schmidt of Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush and Dustin Belt at State Fair Meadowlands for the second year in a row. The fair, which runs from June 18 through July 5, is located in the State Fair Meadowlands fairgrounds next to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, just 10 miles from New York City.

Lachaga, who writes her own songs and music, dazzled concert goers at State Fair Meadowlands in 2014 when she fulfilled her dream of opening for Heffron Drive. Now, "The Girl With The Big Pink Heart," as she is known by her fans, returns to perform some of her original hits in her home state after a year of tremendous growth as an artist.

"It will be amazing to return to the State Fair Meadowlands -there's something so special about performing in front of a home crowd. Plus, my fans are so excited that I'll be doing another concert with Heffron Drive -they've been asking about a reunion all year", Kristina said.

Recently, Lachaga performed at Girls' Life Magazine's Official Pre-Show for the Austin Mahone LIVE Tour, as well as performances at 94.5 PST's Easter Egg Stravanganza, the New Hampshire/Vermont Girl Scouts' Girl Expo, and the Girls World Expo, promoting her #FollowYourHeartsDream message in several states across the U.S. She was also invited to visit Ryan Seacrest Studios in Atlanta for an in-studio performance and interview.

Kristina has remained actively engaged in spreading positive messages and inspiring fans in New Jersey and all over the country. She performed on a 17-week nationwide concert tour promoting Anti-Bullying and, more recently, performed in Flemington, NJ at the Girls on the Run Spring 5K and in New York City at the GlamourGals Glammy Scholarship Awards.

Over the past year, Lachaga has seen her fan base grow and their support has been out of this world. Lachaga's fans have been busy spreading the word about her and her music, from introducing friends to their favorite Kristina Lachaga song to creating fan artwork, just like Abby Ali, 18 from Brooklyn, NY, will do this year at the concert when she brings her idol a painting she's been working on of "The Girl With The Big Pink Heart."

Lachaga's fans, called "#Heartbreakers," recently took to the internet to share their experiences as a fan of hers and what they are looking forward to at the concert this year.

Samantha Pariso, 12, from Phillipsburg, NJ met Lachaga last year when she attended the concert at State Fair Meadowlands and plans to attend her performance again this year. "I have so much fun when we go out to support Kristina. Last year she gave me a t-shirt for dancing the most!

Lana S., age 15, will be traveling all the way from Florida to see Lachaga as she opens for Heffron Drive, "My favorite thing about being a #Heartbreaker is knowing that I have an amazing role model to look up to! I'm looking forward to hearing Kristina's song Calendar because I really love that song." Lana isn't the only fan traveling from afar to attend the concert - Amy Lemon, 23, will be driving from Ashland, OH to the State Fair Meadowlands in East Rutherford, NJ to see Heffron Drive and Kristina Lachaga.

Olivia Tebsherany, 14, from Bedford, NY is excited to finally meet Kristina after she was introduced to her music through a friend and she's been a #Heartbreaker ever since, "I didn't attend the State Fair Meadowlands last year, but I am definitely going this year -I can't wait to get a picture with Kristina!"

But they say the friendships and bond that Lachaga and her fans have created is something that they will cherish forever, "Kristina is so incredible to her fans. She is humble and sweet and it's rare to find a performer who is all about the fans like she is," says Sydney Lynch, 17, from Philadelphia, PA.

Even if they can't make the concert this year, Lachaga's fans are sending their support and best wishes from across the country and even as far away as Argentina, just like Micaela Agustina Perez, 14, from San Miguel de Tucuman, Argentina, who's dream is to see Lachaga perform one day.

Off the stage, Lachaga has kept busy with many charity initiatives, working with the TODAY Show Toy Drive, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and United Way to donate "The Girl With The Big Pink Heart" Holiday Gift Packs to pre-teen and teen girls across the country.

Lachaga will be performing her original songs "No Doubt," "Won't Wait Forever," and "Calendar," which are now available on iTunes, when she opens for Heffron Drive on June 30.

Fans of "The Girl With The Big Pink Heart" will have a lot to look forward to in the coming months, including new music and some exciting announcements.

The concert, located at the American Stage inside the fairgrounds, is free with fair admission ticket. On Tuesday, June 30, admission tickets to the fair are $10 for those 13 and older and $8 for those 12 and younger. Children under 34" tall are admitted free.

State Fair Meadowlands is the largest fair in the New York metro area, with over 150 rides and attractions on over 35 acres of fairgrounds. The fair features over 50 food vendors and 72 rides, 16 of which are new this year.
